Bucks County was the hardest hit per capita in the state as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, with 18 lives lost. Recently, we recognized the eighth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on our country. The official Pennsylvania memorial to the victims of that day is in Yardley, Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County. The Garden of Reflection is a walking memorial journey through tragedy and grief toward luminous symbols of hope, peace and celebration of life for the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives that day, including 17 from Bucks County. - 9/14/2009
