Spotlight: Legislative Audit

Reform Commission

On Dec. 17, Rep. Shapiro convened a meeting of the Legislative Audit Advisory Commission to review and approve the audit of the financial affairs of the General Assembly for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008. The LAAC, which Shapiro chairs, approved the audit, made recommendations to tighten financial controls within the legislature, and recommended a policy be adopted to limit the legislative surplus.
