House Bill 33

I have introduced House Bill 33, which would enact a tax on Marcellus Shale natural gas drilling to help fill an estimated $4 billion budget shortfall, assist local governments with expenses related to the natural gas industry, and replenish funds for important environmental programs, such as the Environmental Stewardship Fund. Pennsylvania is the only major natural gas producing state that does not have a drilling tax or fee.
