Vitali continues expansion of campaign finance home page
Vitali's expanded Web site -- available at www.pacampaigns.com -- allows the public to view the political contributions of Pennsylvania elected officials via the Internet.
In addition to Perzel, campaign finance information for 1999 is now available about state Reps. Katie True, Matt Baker, Ronald Marsico, David Argall and Jeff Coy; and state Sens. Melissa Hart and Noah Wenger. Data from 1998 also is available for True, Baker, Hart and Wenger.
Vitali's campaign finance data from 1996 through 1999 is available on the home page.
The site includes Gov. Tom Ridge's campaign finance data from 1994 through 1998 and state Attorney General Mike Fisher's updated campaign finance information for 1999. The site also includes the 1999 campaign finance reports for Pennsylvania Superior Court candidates, including Maureen Lally-Green, Debra Todd and Richard Klein.
Vitali's Web site allows the public to perform rapid Internet searches of political contributions. The purpose of the site, according to Vitali, is to enable the public to see the relationship between political gift-giving and government action.
Vitali's Web site, which he has maintained since 1994, also demonstrates that current technology allows for inexpensive and easy access to campaign finance information via the Internet.
The site contains a number of other links and features that allow users to search the database for specific contributors or access campaign finance information for any of the 50 states.
