The world has changed a lot in the last few weeks

The following column was written to the Pittsburgh community

Hello,

It is a strange and surreal world we find ourselves in, as we continue to come to grips with the coronavirus. As I write this, the Governor has issued a “stay-at-home” order for Allegheny County as we try to halt or slow the spread of the virus.

I do not know what the future holds, although it is my sincere hope these words find you and your family in good health.

What I do know, however, is that we will continue to marshal our resources to meet the needs of this crisis – and to rebuild our economy and communities once it has passed.

I know that these are difficult, unsettling times. But I firmly believe that we can and will make it through this. We have taken unprecedented actions – closing schools, churches and businesses -- to stop the spread of this virus. And while mistakes will be made, I have faith in Gov. Tom Wolf and Health Secretary Rachel Levine to guide us through this storm. Their actions may seem drastic, but had they not acted, our situation would be much worse.

I know that a lot of us – probably all of us -- are dealing with a lot of stress, a lot of concerns as we try to figure out what this means for us. I want to tell you that my office is here for you. If you have questions, we will do our best to answer them. If you need help, we will do our best to find it.

We might not be able to answer every phone call or email right away, but we will try to help you as much as we can. Remember, we are all in this together – one community.

Be safe,

State Rep. Adam Ravenstahl
