Kinkead announces over $239,000 for local fire and EMS companies

State grant funding approved for first responders

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 19 – State Rep. Emily Kinkead today announced more than $239,000 in grant funding has been approved for fire and EMS companies operating in the 20th Legislative District.

“I’m proud to support these critical investments for our local firefighters and EMS workers,” said Kinkead, D-Allegheny. “These courageous first responders are pillars of our community, going above and beyond every day to keep us safe. I’ll always do everything in my power to help deliver the funding they need.”

Kinkead said funding from the grants includes:

  • $38,075 to West View Volunteer Fire Department.
  • $16,136 to Berkeley Hills Fire Co.
  • $16,137 to Ross West View EMS Authority for fire operations.
  • $15,000 to Ross West View EMS Authority for EMS operations.
  • $15,106 to City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire for fire operations.
  • $9,336 to City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire for EMS operations.
  • $14,075 to Evergreen Fire Co.
  • $14,075 to Perrysville Volunteer Fire Co.
  • $13,663 to Seville Volunteer Fire Co.
  • $12,839 to Fairview Volunteer Fire Department.
  • $12,633 to Avalon Volunteer Fire Co.
  • $12,633 to Quaill Volunteer Fire Department.
  • $12,426 to Bellevue Fire Department.
  • $12,426 to Bellevue Volunteer Fire Co.
  • $12,426 to Laurel Gardens Volunteer Fire Co.
  • $12,220 to Keating Fire Co.

The funding for these projects comes from the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant program, run by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
