I sat down with Jet 24 to discuss new laws going into effect in 2025, including a law that ensures more insurance plans cover biomarker testing – which has revolutionized cancer treatment. As a childhood leukemia survivor, I know firsthand about the life-saving benefits of early diagnosis in the lives of patients.

Serving this region has been the greatest honor of my career.

HELPING AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE
|
When people have a need, we don't turn them away. People across the state often reach out to us when they can't find the service they need in their district. Once again, my team and I helped people in the majority of PA's 67 counties, and we expect to do the same in 2025.
|
As we usher in 2025, I hope all of you enjoy a safe and memorable New Year's celebration! Please remember my offices, and many state offices, will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for the holiday. My team and I will begin returning messages on Thursday.

READY TO HIT THE GROUND RUNNING
|
We are going to hit the ground running in 2025! We passed laws to help save lives (biomarker testing) and we passed measures to keep more money in your pocket (increasing property tax rebates and tripling the child and dependent tax credit) during last session. While that's a great start, we are ready to do even more in the new year!
|
The 2023-24 legislative session marked the first time in more than a decade that Democrats controlled the House. We passed more than 425 bills, with the majority of them focused helping workers, working families, seniors, veterans and first responders.
The good news is we are just getting started! In 2025, we are committed to passing quality bills that keep more money in your pocket and improve the lives of the majority of people across the commonwealth.
|
If you are in search of a particular piece of legislation, or the online record of how the House voted, you can always view it here.
The House will return to Harrisburg for session Jan. 7.
|
I chair the House Majority Policy Committee. We travel the state to host hearings and roundtable discussions with members of the House.
We bring in experts, advocates, first responders, victims, survivors, taxpayers, workers, executives and professionals, all so that members of the House can hear directly from the people on the front lines.

When private for-profit schools and their dark money backers came after Fairview and Millcreek School Districts to siphon off taxpayer dollars to make a profit off taxpayers. I stopped them. We need to protect our high-performing schools! My team and I deliver for local people & projects. We cut the red tape in Harrisburg to secure the support our region needs.
- When our schools need funding ...
- When our police officers need a new vehicle to preserve lives ...
- When our firefighters need funds for life-saving equipment ...
We delivered to the tune of more than $92 million during the 2023-24 legislative session.
