POLICY HEARINGS FOCUSED ON ECONOMY

As a member of the House Majority Leadership team, I travel the state as Chairman of the Policy Committee, hosting hearings and discussions with experts and advocates looking to improve lives.

This week, we hosted hearings on the economy. Experts detailed the need to keep us connected to jobs, doctors and schools – and what it means, not just at the local and regional level but also for the entire state. Keeping us connected means more dollars for our small businesses and more earning potential for workers and more opportunities for workers.

We listened to experts on what Pennsylvania needs to stay competitive on the national and international stage in hosting big events that bring in added dollars to the state. In the coming months and years, Pennsylvania cities will host the NFL Draft, MLB All-Star Game, NCAA tournament men’s basketball games, a PGA grand slam event, FIFA World Cup and America’s 250^th birthday celebration. The eyes of the world will be on Pennsylvania. These events all happen because of PA’s infrastructure, and a statewide investment only helps drive our economy.

INVESTING IN ERIE: IT'S STATE BUDGET SEASON

After Governor Shapiro delivered his budget address this year, it's up to the legislature to figure out how we're going to do the most good with the resources we have. For me, it's also jockeying to get Erie County what it needs to succeed. Revitalizing communities, supporting local businesses, helping people afford a home, or land a better job, making their schools better – this is why I'm here. And I'm here to win.

If you are a veteran or live with a veteran, Second Harvest Food Bank provides food for households in need. You can find more information from their friendly staff at 814-459-3663 ext. 117. You will need to show ID on your first visit to the event.

This month’s event starts at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26. Please do not arrive before 1 p.m. at Second Harvest Food Bank, 1507 Grimm Dr., Erie PA 16501.

When private for-profit schools and their dark money backers came after Fairview and Millcreek School Districts to siphon off taxpayer dollars to make a profit off taxpayers. I stopped them. We need to protect our high-performing schools!

On the third Thursday of each month, my team and I are proud to host a Veterans Service Officer from the VFW to be available to members of our community.
