Millcreek Twp. Police Department receives $312K

State funds will be used to purchase a life-preserving vehicle

ERIE, Oct. 6 – The Millcreek Township Police Department welcomed state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro to the Millcreek Township Building Thursday for a check presentation. The department received $312,437 in state funds that will be used to purchase an armored vehicle, Bizzarro announced.

“Armored vehicles are built for the specific purpose of saving the lives of local law enforcement, specifically the brave individuals who are the first people on the scene, working to protect our neighbors and residents while restoring law and order,” Bizzarro said. “I worked incredibly hard to obtain these funds. It’s been an honor to work alongside the members of the Millcreek Township Police Department in the past and in recent weeks, including my license plate replacement event in July that served nearly 500 people.

“It’s rewarding to see state funds being used to purchase a vehicle that will ultimately protect the well-being of officers who are called on to step into harm’s way to serve our community,” Bizzarro said.
