ERIE, Sept. 16 – Students attending Erie County Community College will see updated classrooms and improved facilities thanks to grant funding that’s meant to better serve students in Pennsylvania, Rep. Ryan Bizzarro announced Wednesday.
Erie County Community College will receive $600,000 for summit classrooms and facility upgrades, and an additional $300,000 for classroom and facility improvements at the West Campus. These changes will allow the college to serve growing student populations and meet high-priority workforce facility needs, while making major repairs and renovations of existing aging facilities.
“Community colleges are places where people from every stage of life come together to learn, grow and build new opportunities. That is why investing in the Erie County Community College matters so much,” Bizzarro said. “Upgrading classrooms and facilities will give students the fresh, modern learning environments they deserve and help ensure that the college can continue to serve our community for years to come.”
Erie County Community College was one of 14 community colleges across Pennsylvania to receive funding through this round of grant rewards by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Education, which doled out more than $25.4 million.
The announcement continues Bizzarro’s pursuit of state investments for local projects. Bizzarro has helped secure more than $64.1 million in state funding this legislative session for projects and services that help people throughout the Erie region.
