Rep. Bradford Announces Nearly $2.2 Million for Local Water Infrastructure Improvement Projects

CEDARS, PA, Dec. 19 – Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Matt Bradford today announced nearly $2.2 million for local water infrastructure projects in East Norriton Township and Schwenksville Borough.

“These state funds will help support East Norriton’s and Schwenksville’s efforts to make repairs and upgrades to ensure our infrastructure remains strong,” said Bradford, D-Montgomery. “I’m grateful that the state is investing in these important local projects so that the cost is not passed on to local residents.”

East Norriton Township was awarded $1.6 million for two local projects: a $1.3 million H2O PA Program grant for storm water infrastructure improvements and a $266,709 PA Small Water and Sewer Program grant to retrofit a storm water basin.

Schwenksville Borough was awarded a $575,682 H2O PA Program Grant for repairs to a wastewater tank.

Funds distributed through the H20 PA Program provide for single-year or multi-year grants to municipalities or municipal authorities to assist with the construction of drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm water projects. Act 54 of 2022 appropriated $205.4 million of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds to the H2O PA – Water Supply, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Projects Program.

Funds distributed through the Small Water and Sewer program provide for small water, sewer, and storm system water infrastructure projects. Act 54 of 2022 appropriated $105.6 million of federal American Rescue Plan Act funds to the PA Small Water and Sewer Program.
