Rep. Bradford announces $136,000 for Local Fire Departments

HARRISBURG, Feb. 13 – State Rep. Matt Bradford announced that eight local fire departments and emergency medical service companies were awarded $136,000 in state funding to support their work.

“This grant funding will help give our first responders the ability to do their jobs and keep us safe,” said Bradford, D-Mongomery. “I’m deeply thankful for their service to our community and grateful to the Shapiro administration for supporting our local fire departments and EMS companies.”

The following organizations were awarded grants:

  • Centre Square Fire Co., Whitpain Township: $16,136
  • East Norriton Township Fire Department: $12,632
  • Lower Frederick Fire Company, Schwenksville Borough: $28,136
  • Norriton Fire Engine Co., East Norriton Township: $15,930
  • Perkiomen Township Fire Co. 1: $16,136
  • Skippack Emergency Medical Services: $15,000
  • Skippack Fire Co.: $16,136
  • Worcester Volunteer Fire Department: $16,136

The Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant is an annual grant program available through the Office of the Fire Commissioner to eligible volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services and rescue squads. The funding can be used for facility improvements, equipment, debt reduction, training and certification, education and outreach, and recruitment and retention.
