Bradford announces $500,000 grant for Norristown Area School District
NORRISTOWN, May 17 – State Rep. Matt Bradford, D-Montgomery, today announced a $500,000 Pennsylvania Department of Education grant for the Norristown Area School District’s athletic complex.
"On behalf of the students, staff and families of our district, we would like to publicly thank Rep. Bradford for his steadfast and unwavering support of public education and, in particular, for his support of our athletic project,” said Anne Rohricht, Norristown Area School District CFO. “We are very grateful for this funding and look forward to the expansion of our athletic complex invigorating and enhancing our athletic programs.”
The complex, which opened in 2012, serves as a state-of the-art synthetic track and multi-purpose playing field adjacent to the Norristown Area High School. Funds will be used to add home-side and visitor-side seating to the structure.
“Congratulations to the Norristown Area School District,” Bradford said. “I am excited to know that our state has made an important investment in our community while supporting extracurricular activities for our youth and providing students, parents and local sporting fans with memories for years to come.”
