Briggs begins 5th term representing 149th District

HARRISBURG, Jan. 3 – State Rep. Tim Briggs, D-Montgomery, took the oath of office today to continue to represent residents of the 149th Legislative District in Montgomery County for his fifth term.

“It’s a tremendous honor that my friends and neighbors have continued to select me to represent the needs of our community in Harrisburg,” Briggs said. “Our national political landscape is changing, but I’m looking forward to continuing to fight for the residents of the 149th District and everything they support.”

During the previous session, Briggs introduced 20 pieces of legislation, including bills that would address the bullying epidemic in Pennsylvania in addition to a bill that would study the appropriate start time for schools. Briggs plans to continue his push for legislation addressing both these topics in addition to others.

“I believe we need to focus on our children’s educational experience and legislation that would increase their safety and ability to learn will continue to be a focus of mine during this term,” Briggs said. “I look forward to working across the aisle to get these bills passed.”

Briggs' District Office, which is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, is located at 554 Shoemaker Road, Suite 149 in King of Prussia and can be reached at (610) 768-3135.
