“The Beury Building is one of north Philadelphia’s greatest treasures and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places,” Burgos said. “This grant will not only help to preserve this significant structure, but also continue to revitalize our community and commercial corridors. I applaud 3701 N. Broad LLC in its efforts to create a robust north Philadelphia for years to come.”
The grant will be used to install new sidewalks, ADA ramps, streetlights and trees. The total project cost is $682,000. It is part of a redevelopment project to transform the Beury Building into a hotel, residences and a business incubator space.
