Burns touts recycling grant program; has secured more than $1.8 million for recycling in Cambria County

Program helps offset costs of county recycling programs

EBENSBURG, April 6 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, today is urging regional counties to apply for a state recycling grant program aimed at helping to offset the costs of county recycling programs.

“Since taking office, I’ve helped secure more than $1.8 million to help maintain recycling programs and ease taxes and fees in Cambria County,” Burns said. “This program is another opportunity to continue doing so, and I urge counties in our region to apply.”

The program, administered by the state Department of Environmental Protection, will reimburse counties for half the costs of a recycling coordinate for 2020. The application deadline is May 31, and more information is available by following this link.
