Burns: $9,500 state grant awarded to Cambria County Historical Society

JOHNSTOWN, Sept. 10 — State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, announced today that the Cambria County Historical Society was awarded a new state grant of $9,500 to help the nonprofit organization meet general costs related to its operation.
Headquartered at the 1889 A.W. Buck House in Ebensburg, the historical society’s expenditures include salary, heating, and insurance.
“Cambria County has a rich history, which in many ways reflects the history of America, and our historical society plays a big role in sharing it with every generation,” Burns said. “I supported this funding in the state budget to help keep our vital local institutions alive and well.”
The grant comes from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission, which today announced nearly $4 million in Cultural and Historical Support Grants for 182 eligible museums and official county historical societies statewide.
