Caltagirone to hold free paper shredding event in Reading

READING, Aug. 19 – State Rep. Tom Caltagirone will host a free paper shredding event on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 7 in the parking lot of Tom Masano Auto Retailers USA at 841 E. Wyomissing Blvd. in Reading.

“Unfortunately, identity theft remains a real concern, so I’m pleased to offer this free service to my neighbors to properly and safely discard documents containing personal information,” said Caltagirone, D-Berks. “We all have paperwork that contains information that we don’t want to fall into the wrong hands.

“This event will help members of the community protect themselves from having that happen.”

Shredding is limited to residential documents. Residents can bring up to 10 bags or boxes of paper containing personal information – such as canceled or unused checks, bank or credit card statements, or tax records – to have it shredded on site.

Anyone with questions may call Caltagirone’s office at 610-376-1529.
