TOMORROW: My Free Shredding Event

I will be joining with Senator Judy Schwank to host a FREE paper shredding event TOMORROW on Saturday, April 11 at the Masonic Lodge in West Reading (400 South Seventh Avenue).

We can help you safely dispose documents that might have personal information, such as Social Security, credit card, or bank account numbers. You can bring up to three boxes of paper to be securely shredded and recycled.

Supporting our Local Students and Teachers

I had the opportunity to join Rep. Jacklyn Rusnock and Sen. Schwank on a panel for the Berks County Intermediate Unit's Legislative Breakfast. We were able to meet with all the superintendents of Berks County's schools to discuss budget priorities, state mandates, and how we can support our students and our schools' faculty and staff.

Technical careers are crucial for our regional and statewide development. I also had the opportunity to join Rep. Manny Guzman and several of my colleagues to tour Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center to connect with education leaders and local officials to learn how we can improve the future and available resources for our students!

In addition, I was also able to meet with students at the Learning Academy at Thomas Ford, which is part of Reading School District and serves as an alternative school for students with behavioral issues to get back on track with their academic work. I had the chance to discuss my career as a businesswoman and legislator, how I reached this point, and how these future leaders can achieve their goals.

I look forward to supporting the needs of all students, regardless of what stage of their lives they are in.

Celebrating New Investments in Downtown Reading

It was an honor to join Appropriations Committee Chairman Jordan Harris and fellow leaders from throughout our community at the opening of Finanta Credit Union along Penn Street in Reading.

During my time as a small business owner, Finanta was the only one who took a chance with me. When everyone else said no, Finanta said yes.

Now, as a state legislator, I support the work Finanta does because they truly invest in the success of our community.

I look forward to supporting the impactful work they continue to provide for our region!

Honoring Former Reading City Councilman Strat Marmarou

This week, I presented a citation alongside Rep. Rusnock to the children of the late Strat Marmarou.

When I served on the Reading City Council with Strat, I saw his leadership firsthand and how his strength, character and heart shaped the work he did for our community.

Strat will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and the legacy he has left behind will not be forgotten.

Get Money Back in Your Pocket This Tax Season!

As part of the 2025-26 state budget, I voted to give a tax break to nearly a million Pennsylvania families.

It’s called the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit – because working people deserve a break! If you qualify for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, you automatically qualify for an additional 10% tax break on your state taxes. That’s money back in your pocket to help pay for groceries, childcare, or other everyday expenses.

You could earn up to $805 in a tax credit. Click here to learn more and estimate your credit before tax season ends!

Important Election Deadlines

The deadline to register to vote is approaching! To vote in the Primary Election on May 19, you must be registered by May 4. You can register to vote here.

The final day to request a mail-in ballot is May 12, which can be done here.

Apply now for 2025 Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program

Applications for Property Tax/Rent Rebates are available! This program gives money back to PA renters and homeowners for the taxes they paid in 2025 - including seniors, widows and widowers, and those with disabilities.

You can learn more here and contact my office for support with your application. Applications are due by June 30.

You May Have Unclaimed Property - We Can Help!

Many Pennsylvanians have unclaimed property - money from dormant bank accounts, insurance payments, uncashed checks - and you may be one of them!

My office can help you receive this unclaimed property. Contact us or go to PATreasury.gov/unclaimed-property to see if there is anything available in your name.
