You Can Act to Advance Natural Gas Safety
|
Last week, the House passed HB 1522, one of my bills to address the cause of the tragic R.M. Palmer factory explosion that took place in our community.
Now, this bill and two others to address these causes await to move in the Senate. You can make your voice heard to the Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee to advance these lifesaving bills by filling out the form found here.

Exploring Tourism, Recreation, and Economic Development in Bucks County
|
Tourism is one of the driving economic industries in Pennsylvania. It is always great to learn how other areas organize their destination marketing to support the local economy and highlight their hidden treasures. I learned so much from visiting Bucks County, and I am grateful to my colleagues on the House Tourism, Recreation and Economic Development Committee for hosting this tour.
|
Day two of our tour included stops to Peddler's Village, which has charming colonial-style buildings and beautiful gardens, a ride along the New Hope Railroad, and the opportunity to learn more about the spirits industry at Ashlynn Distillery.
We were then ?? told how to get, how to get to Sesame Place ?? - the amusement park themed around Sesame Street! We capped off our day at Washington Crossing Historic Park, where George Washington crossed the Delaware to turn the tide of the Revolutionary War.
|
Finally, on our third day, we had the chance to tour the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, which currently has an exhibit dedicated to the art of Eric Carle, most well known as the writer and artist of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Thank you to my colleagues, including Tourism Committee Chair Mary Jo Daley and Bucks County natives Tim Brennan, Perry Warren, and Jim Prokopiak for the incredible opportunity to see what Bucks County has to offer! I look forward to bringing what I learned about their destination marketing back to support Berks County.

Honoring our Future Business Leaders
|
As a former small business owner, I know that developing a strong understanding of financing can be life changing, for both a businessowner and community.
That's why it was wonderful to honor the individuals who took part in Alvernia University's Financial Empowerment program as they wrap up the academic year. Congratulations to all of the honorees, I look forward to seeing the contributions you make to our community!
|
Labor unions have secured so many rights for workers and continue to do the important work of making sure workers are represented. It was wonderful to attend the United Labor Council of Reading and Berks County's Labor Banquet to share in solidarity and continue to learn how I can support our local unions in the legislature.

Reading Israeli Flag Raising
|
I had the honor of joining Reading’s first Israeli Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Reading & Jewish Cultural Center of Reading.
Moments like this are about coming together, learning from one another, and recognizing the rich cultures that make our community stronger. With time and understanding comes a deeper respect for the traditions and histories that shape the people around us.
I'm grateful to stand alongside community members in recognition of this important day and the significance it holds.
