Cephas to host community cleanup and shredding event on Nov. 4th

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 27 – State Rep. Morgan Cephas, D-Phila., will host Love Your Park Day and Shredding Event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Rose Playground, 1300 N. 75th St., Philadelphia.

“This annual community cleanup brings people together for a common cause that helps communities look and feel better," Cephas said. "Love Your Park day stresses the importance of preserving our natural resources and making genuine efforts to create clean and green communities.”

Individuals can bring up to two boxes of personal financial documents that are no longer needed and any other papers that contain confidential information for shredding. Examples include documents that contain Social Security, credit card or bank account numbers, credit card applications, canceled or unused checks and bank statements.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign up for recycle bins to comply with new city rules that require all residents to have a recycling container. Constituents must bring their ID.

Cephas and her staff will provide assistance for constituents applying for birth and death certificates, PennDOT work and other state government programs and benefits.

Love Your Park is a collaborative partnership to steward Philadelphia’s neighborhood parks year-round by hosting cleanups and workdays, planning community events, and investing in improvements.
