Hello Neighbors, Community Members and Friends,
|
|
I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful Fourth of July with family, friends, and neighbors, despite the summer heat and passing storms. It was truly an honor to celebrate America’s 250th Independence Day alongside so many of you across Delaware County.
Below are a few snapshots from celebrations throughout our communities. From the excitement of the community parades in Lansdowne and East Lansdowne, celebratory drum circles in Lansdowne, visits with small business owners at the Lansdowne Farmers Market, neighborhood gatherings and family traditions, to the fireworks in Upper Darby, these moments reminded me that the true strength of our nation has always been found in its people—in the kindness we show one another, the communities we build together, and the hope we share for future generations.
As we commemorate 250 years of our nation’s journey, we also recognize that the promise of America has had different impacts and lasting effects on the lived experiences of so many of our neighbors throughout our communities and so we are constantly a work in progress. Independence Day invites us not only to celebrate our freedoms, but to renew our commitment to the ideals of liberty, equality, justice, and opportunity to preserve our democracy for all. Each generation has been called to move our country closer to those ideals, and ours is no exception.
May we continue to be inspired by the courage of those who came before us, the resilience of those working for positive change in today's society and the belief that together we can create a future where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you to everyone who helped make these celebrations possible and to all who continue to serve our communities with compassion, dedication, and hope. It is a privilege to represent you in the 164th legislative district and I look forward to continuing our work together to build a stronger, more united Pennsylvania.
In service,

Thank you to all our communities for organizing such great events to celebrate America’s 250th birthday – and especially to Lansdowne and East Lansdowne Boroughs, whose events I was able to attend last weekend! Above are some of my favorite photos from the day.

Congratulations to the graduates of Goodwill's Helms Academy!
|
Congratulations to all of the 2026 Helms Academy graduates! My intern Jaden and I were able to witness the hard work and grit of the graduates of the Helms program yesterday. These graduates, young and seasoned, are now equipped with their high school equivalency, an opportunity that will carry them to new heights.
The Helms Academy is named for Goodwill's founder, Reverend Edgar J. Helms, and offers free adult education and work-readiness programs that result in a Commonwealth High School Diploma and college credits.
