Register now for Davidson’s annual Back-to-School Bookbag Giveaway

UPPER DARBY, Aug. 6 – State Rep. Margo Davidson, D-Delaware, and Upper Darby Councilwoman-At-Large Barbarann Keffer are inviting parents to register now for the representative’s 9th Annual Back-to-School Bookbag Giveaway. Free bookbags will be provided while supplies last but parents must register by Aug. 31 to guarantee a free bookbag for their children. The pre-registration is first-come, first-serve while supplies last, so it is important for families to pre-register before the Aug. 31 deadline.

Residents of all ages from across the 164th Legislative District – Yeadon, Upper Darby, Millbourne, Lansdowne and East Lansdowne – are invited to Davidson’s 9th Annual Community Picnic & Back-to-School Bookbag Giveaway, which will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Second Ward Playground, 747 Crosley Ave., Upper Darby, across the street from Fernwood Cemetery on Church Lane.

"We'll have free barbecue and drinks, family games, entertainment, state resources and information for students and families. We provide this service every year so that families can have a successful school year," Davidson said. “Since I have been in office, I have provided over 5,000 bookbags to children and families in the 164th district.”

Pre-registration is mandatory to receive a free bookbag and is first-come, first-served while supplies last. To pre-register, parents can call 610-259-7016, email, or stop by Davidson's office in the Barclay Square Shopping Center, 1500 Garrett Road, Upper Darby.
