Davidson to hold public forum on scams, internet safety Nov. 14

UPPER DARBY, Nov. 12 – State Rep. Margo Davidson will host her fifth annual public safety forum, this year entitled: Internet Safety: Avoiding Scams During the Holidays.

The forum will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 14 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 50 E. Plumstead Ave., Landsdowne, PA 19050.

“With online shopping at a peak during the holidays, people are particularly vulnerable to cyberthieves,” said Davidson, D-Delaware. “I’m holding this forum so that people are informed and protected from falling prey to internet scams.”

The event will feature important discussions from members of local law enforcement, the police, state officials and community advocates.

Scheduled speakers include:
• George Dillman, Pennsylvania Department of Banking
• Habibah Smith, Human Trafficking Task Force
• Jessica Tobin, Pennsylvania State Trooper
• A Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General representative
• Kelly Ace, Family Support Line

Staff will be present to offer state services.
