Davidson participating in press conference with faith leaders calling for end to state budget stalemate
UPPER DARBY, Oct. 28– State Rep. Margo Davidson, D-Delaware, will join local ministers and religious leaders at a press conference calling for passage of a state budget.
The event will be held noon Thursday, Oct. 29 at Fresh Anointing Christian Center, 141 Garrett Road, Upper Darby.
“This budget impasse, now at over 100 days, is really hurting people who rely on state services,” Davidson said. “I hope my fellow legislators will listen to the leaders of the faith community who are calling for a resolution to this stalemate. I believe if this diverse group of faith leaders can come together for a common goal, we can do it in the legislature. I welcome my colleagues from both sides of the aisle to make a commitment to get the budget done.”
Davidson and other invited legislators will join the Upper Darby-Drexel Hill Ministerium, an association of churches, congregations, faith-based organizations, along with service groups, in seeking a budget resolution that fully funds education and human services programs.
Media coverage is invited.
