Davidson hosting College Planning Fair on Jan. 28
UPPER DARBY, Jan. 14 – State Rep. Margo Davidson, D-Delaware, will host a College Planning Fair for local students and parents from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28 at Fresh Anointing Christian Center, 141 Garrett Road.
“Financial aid is more important than ever thanks to increasing tuition at colleges and universities,” Davidson said. “I will continue advocating for fair funding for our colleges and universities and the students and families they serve.”
At the College Planning Fair, students and parents will learn about saving for college, and will receive information and assistance completing applications for colleges and financial aid.
The event will include presenters from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and the state Treasurer's Office, as well as representatives from several local colleges. Independent organizations that offer their own scholarships will also be there with applications and to answer questions.
The PHEAA presenter will provide step-by-step instructions on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. That application is a mandatory first step for most federal, state, local and individual college grants. The Treasurer's Office presenter will discuss college savings programs.
