Davidson: Free tax preparation has helped 300 people, registration open for upcoming Financial Fitness Forum
UPPER DARBY, March 9 – Rep. Margo Davidson, D-Delaware, announced that over 300 area residents have been provided free tax preparation at her office.
Since the beginning of February, the nonprofit organization the Campaign for Working Families has been assisting households with incomes of up to $50,000 per year with free tax preparation.
“I am proud to offer this service to my constituents and I am thrilled that it has been so highly utilized,” Davidson said. “This is just one of the monthly events I host to benefit and support citizens in our area, and I look forward to seeing area residents at these events throughout the year.”
The free tax prep service is part of Davidson's annual Financial Fitness Month, which also includes her fifth annual Financial Fitness Forum from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17 at Bethel Community Baptist Church, 7766 Wayne Ave.
This event will include free information on a variety of financial issues, including presentations on money management, improving your financial health and utilizing state programs to help families, homeowners and small business owners.
Davidson has held events on this topic in previous years that were highly attended so she urged residents to register to reserve their space. To register for the Financial Fitness Forum, call Rep. Davidson’s district office at 610-259-7016.
Free tax preparation is available by appointment on Wednesday and Saturday evenings until April 13, but Davidson said only limited spaces remain.
