DeLissio, Daley co-hosting free shredding event Aug. 15 in Narberth

NARBERTH, Aug. 6 – State Reps. Mary Jo Daley, D-Montgomery, and Pamela A. DeLissio, D-Montgomery/Phila., are co-hosting a free shredding event for their constituents on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The rain-or-shine shredding event will run from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. – or whenever the truck is full, whichever comes first – in the parking lot of the Magisterial Courthouse at 925 Montgomery Ave., Narberth.

“With so much time being spent at home during the pandemic, many of us have been cleaning and reorganizing. So, this shredding event is a great opportunity to safely dispose of confidential, unwanted documents with personal information,” DeLissio said.

Said Daley: “Not only is shredding a safe way to get rid of unwanted documents, it’s also environmentally friendly, a fact that is tremendously important to both me and Representative DeLissio. We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for our respective constituents.”

Daley and DeLissio stress that common types of unwanted items for shredding consideration include credit card statements, credit card applications, bank and investment statements, canceled checks, income tax information, insurance and health records, and retirement or pension fund information.

Newspapers, magazines and journals will not be accepted.

There will be a limit of four bags per household (standard storage/banker boxes or grocery bags). Shredding will be done on site with COVID-19 protocols in place, and all shredded paper will be recycled.

All attendees must wear masks. Attendees will be asked to park their vehicles and carry their own bags or boxes to the shredding bins. If there is a line, attendees will be asked to stand at least six feet apart.
