PITTSBURGH, Jan. 26 – The Allegheny County Gaming Economic Fund awarded $139,400 in grant funding today for a project to rebuild roadways in Verona, according to state Rep. Tony DeLuca, D-Allegheny.
“Damaged roads are terrible for drivers and an eyesore for the community,” DeLuca said. “Securing this funding for Verona will improve those problem spots and make the drive smoother for residents and visitors.”
DeLuca said the funding was awarded to the Allegheny Valley North Council of Governments for the reconstruction of roadway along portions of Verona Alley. The investment also includes installing an underdrain on Oak Alley to fix a water issue.
The Allegheny County Economic Development Fund is financed by gaming activity in the county and administered by the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County and the state Commonwealth Financing Authority. More information on the fund is available here.
