Deasy announces more than $123,000 in state grants for local fire and EMS

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 18 – More than $123,000 in grants was awarded to local fire and EMS companies serving the 27^th Legislative District, announced state Rep. Dan Deasy today.

"When someone calls 911, they are counting on our firefighters and EMS personnel to show up ready,” said Deasy, D-Allegheny. “Whether it is upgrading life-saving equipment, modernizing facilities, or investing in the training that helps our crews handle any emergency, every dollar of these investments will make a difference for our local men and women on the front lines.”

The funding was awarded as follows:

Scott Township Emergency Medical Services - $15,000
City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire EMS - $9,336
Bower Hill VFD - $14,281
Crafton Volunteer Fire Department - $15,724
East Carnegie Volunteer Fire Department - $14,281
Glendale Hose Co. No. 1 - $13,663
Greentree Volunteer Fire Co. - $14,075
Heidelberg Volunteer Fire Department - $12,426
City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire - $15,105

The Office of the State Fire Commissioner administered the funding through the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program. A full list of awardees is available here.
