Donatucci announces state grants for two local historical sites
State Rep. Maria Donatucci, D-Philadelphia/Delaware, today announced that two historical organizations in her legislative district will receive state funding to support their operations.
According to Donatucci, a total of $11,872 in state funds was awarded to the American Swedish Historical Museum ($7,872) and Fort Mifflin on the Delaware ($4,000) through the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission’s Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program.
“These grant funds are critical to the work of these two valuable historical organizations in our community - American Swedish Historical Museum and Fort Mifflin on the Delaware,” Donatucci said. “These funds will go a long way in ensuring the historians and curators at these sites can continue their important work in preserving our shared history.”
Donatucci said the purpose of the program is to provide general operating support to Pennsylvania museums and official county historical societies that are not directly supported by other state grant programs.
The Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program is administered by the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office, a bureau within the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. For more information about this program, visit https://www.phmc.pa.gov.
