Donatucci announces $51,217 grant to Penrose School
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 26 – Ahead of the upcoming school year, state Rep. Maria Donatucci announced today $51,217 in grant funding to help Penrose School improve educational services for students during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Donatucci, these state resources are part of the Governor's Emergency Education Relief Funds aimed at assisting schools and other educational agencies that are designated for Additional Targeted Support and Improvement under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act.
"During this unprecedented public health emergency, we must work tirelessly to ensure safety for all, especially our children," Donatucci said. "This funding will help Penrose and many Pennsylvania schools adapt to the challenges created by the coronavirus and allow continuity of quality learning while prioritizing the health and well-being of students, teachers and their families."
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, passed by Congress, authorizes governors to determine the appropriate educational use of GEER Funds.
