Rep. Flynn to host free shredding event Saturday, Oct. 12
SCRANTON, Oct. 1 – State Rep. Marty Flynn, D-Lackawanna, will sponsor a free shredding event for residents of the 113th Legislative District from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct 12 in the back-parking lot of his district office, 409 N. Main St.
“Shredding is a great way to securely throw away documents containing your personal and financial information,” Flynn said. “It is environmentally friendly and also protects you from identity fraud.”
Residents are encouraged to bring any documents containing personal information, such as Social Security numbers, credit card statements and applications, medical records, banking statements, canceled checks, income tax information, insurance records, and retirement or pension fund information.
There is a limit of three boxes or trash bags per person.
“The event is free for district residents, and documents will be shredded on site for recycling,” Flynn said. “This is for personal documents only – no businesses, please.”
More information is available by calling Flynn's office at 570-342-4348.
