Frankel: Fern Hollow planning effort receives state grant

$120,000 to help fund planning efforts

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 20 – An effort to create a vision plan for Fern Hollow has been selected to receive a $120,000 state grant, state Rep. Dan Frankel, D-Allegheny, announced today.

“I hope this planning effort will inform decisions about the future of Frick Park and the Fern Hollow effort and will lead to improvements that provide recreation and access for all of the residents in that area,” Frankel said. “It is absolutely critical that the public have input into the restoration of that area, and I applaud efforts to see that happen.”

The grant, awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to Upstream Pittsburgh, will help fund a fund a five-year plan regarding bridge restoration and park rehabilitation, which will include community engagement and a final report.
