Galloway to host Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program forums
LEVITTOWN, Feb. 20 – State Rep. John Galloway will host two free forums on the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program to help district residents fill out their 2017 rebate applications.
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians 65 or older, widows and widowers 50 or older, and people with disabilities 18 or older. The income limits are $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 a year for renters, and half of Social Security income is excluded.
The maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for qualifying homeowners can boost rebates to $975. The application deadline for 2017 rebates is June 30, 2018.
“This program helps to reimburse low- and fixed-income homeowners and renters,” said Galloway, D-Bucks. “I’m happy that my office staff and I are able to help local residents determine if they are eligible and fill out the paperwork.”
Galloway’s forums will be held:
- March 2, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Falls Township Senior Center, Trenton and Oxford Valley roads, Fairless Hills
- March 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Bristol Borough Area Active Adult Center, 301 Wood St., Bristol
Seniors or disabled individuals interested in applying should bring their 2017 income statements as well as 2017 paid property tax receipts or proof of 2017 rent. Light refreshments will be provided.
