Goughnour: $4.75 million in grants awarded for three projects in 35th Legislative District

HARRISBURG, July 16 — State Rep. Dan Goughnour, D-Allegheny, announced today the award of three state grants totaling $4.75 million for major projects in the 35th Legislative District.

The grant awards are for:

  • Kane McKeesport: $3 million for a project that includes replacing the roofing, windows, vents and doors throughout the facility.
  • Steel Valley School District: $1 million to assist with construction of a new, state-of-the-art elementary campus.
  • Carnegie Library of Homestead Music Hall: $750,000 for renovations to the stage and ceiling, HVAC and electrical upgrades, and ADA features.

“These are big-ticket projects in our area, and I’m thrilled to see the state funding come home for them,” Goughnour said. “This funding will help our seniors, our students and our arts community. This is how we keep the Mon Valley moving forward.”

The grants are funded through the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, a grant program for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
