Over $2.3 million in grants awarded to organizations in the 182nd District

Rep. Ben Waxman, D-Phila., has announced over $2.3 million in grant funding from the Commonwealth Financing Agency will support multiple renovation projects within the 182nd Legislative District.
Waxman said that the following projects in his district have been awarded funding:
- $50,000 to Palumbo Recreation Center for field remediation.
- $800,000 to The Attic Youth Center for equipment and renovations to the organization’s offices.
- $200,000 to Avene of the Arts for streetscape improvements along South Broad Street.
- $33,287 to The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia for the purchase of various technological equipment to expand bicycle use in the city.
- $200,000 to First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia for the rehabilitation and preservation of the historic Frank Furness-designed First Unitarian Church building.
- $100,000 to Philadelphia Theatre Company for the completion of theater upgrade projects.
- $250,000 to Curtis Institute of Music for the completion of building renovations at the Curtis Institute of Music.
“Art, recreation and history are not just things that we celebrate in Center City, but we also work to protect it,” said Waxman. “I always make it a priority to support the organizations that give our neighborhoods their character, create good jobs, and make Philadelphia a place people want to live and visit. When we fund these things, we’re strengthening the entire community.”
Waxman also collaborated with House Majority Appropriations Committee Chairman Jordan Harris, D-Phila., on the following project:
- $750,000 to Philadelphia Clef Club of the Performing Arts for the renovation of the organization’s cultural facility in Philadelphia
“The Philadelphia Clef Club of the Performing Arts is a cultural institution that has nurtured generations of artists and preserved the rich musical legacy of our city,” said House Majority Appropriations Chairman Jordan A. Harris. “This investment supports critical improvements to the Clef Club’s historic facility, ensuring it remains a vibrant space for performance, education, and community engagement. As Majority Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, I am proud to support funding that protects our cultural assets and strengthens Philadelphia’s creative economy.”
