Hill-Evans challenges York County students with essay contest

YORK, Jan. 6 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, is hosting an essay contest that challenges local students to explore ways to benefit their communities.

The topic of the essay is to design an app or social media channel that will benefit their family, school and/or community.

“This contest is a great way to get young students involved and excited about how they can make a positive impact on our communities,” Hill-Evans said. “It provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their writing ability, as well as their understanding of using technology to address real-world problems.”

The deadline for the contest is Jan. 30. Winners will be presented medals in a ceremony hosted by Hill-Evans at her district office.

The contest has been shared with every public and private school in the 95th Legislative District. Hill-Evans said that Pennsylvania students outside of the district who would like to compete may also submit an essay.

Essays can be emailed to RepHill-Evans@pahouse.net or dropped off in person at 53 E. North St., Suite 3, York, PA 17401.
