Hill-Evans strongly denounces recent racist propaganda posted in her district

YORK, Sept. 22 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, today released the following statement denouncing racist "white power" fliers and imagery displayed throughout the city of York that, according to officials, come following a recent fight that broke out on Sept. 12 near York College.

"The recent posting of multiple racist threats within the 95th District is not only disheartening, but wholly unacceptable," said Hill-Evans, chair of the PA House State Government Committee. "Attempts to organize or stoke violence in any form are beyond condemnation, and I'm encouraged by the residents, community leaders, and law enforcement promises to not allow York to be divided by anyone seeking to provoke fear or hatred."

"There is nothing powerful about blind hate; it's weakness, and I'm proud to stand together with my neighbors in York City against all acts of bigotry and violence," she said.

Hill-Evans also encouraged anyone who feels they may be in immediate danger or believes a situation requires urgent assistance to contact local law enforcement or emergency services. For any incidents of discrimination, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission is a state resource that provides information, support, and guidance. The commission works to address concerns related to bias and promote equal treatment within communities.
