Hohenstein welcomes $1.8 million in state funding to his district

HARRISBURG, Sept. 16 – State Rep. Joe Hohenstein, D-Phila., today announced that $1,876,996 in state funding that he advocated for is coming to his district for four critical projects.

This funding comes from the Local Share Account program.

The projects being awarded include:

  • $1 million for field restoration at Monkiewicz Playground.

  • $250,000 for construction of an extension of the Delaware River Trail.

  • $276,996 for new equipment for Greensgrow Farms, which includes vehicles and machinery.

  • $350,000 for Liguori Inc. to build a traders training center.

“I am proud to have supported funding for these four projects that each bring a unique development to the Lower Northeast and Riverwards,” Hohenstein said. “Whether it’s improving our outdoor spaces or helping to provide important skills for jobs, each of these four projects will greatly contribute to our community.”

The Local Share Account program is funded through revenue generated by gaming and is administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects that enhance economic development, public infrastructure and community vitality.
