MALVERN, July 16 – State Reps. Kristine Howard and Chris Pielli, both D-Chester, announced today that an $800,254 Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant has been awarded to the Goshen Fire Co.
Specifically, the funds will go toward construction of an apparatus bay, including construction, renovation, replacement of end-of-life building components, renovation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, and parking improvements.
“Supporting our local emergency services is crucial,” Howard said. “I am thankful we have secured these funds to help those who risk their lives to help us.”
“Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. As the son of an FDNY firefighter, I feel strongly that we owe it to these everyday heroes to give them the support they need to continue their mission,” Pielli said. “When our state dollars are going back to our first responders, that’s responsible government at work helping to protect the health, safety and welfare of our residents.”
The funds came from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, a Pennsylvania grant program for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. RACP projects have a regional impact and generate substantial increases in or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues or other measures of economic activity. RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
