Burns: Cambria County receives $774K to bolster public safety

HARRISBURG, Dec. 10 — State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, announced today that Cambria County is receiving nearly $774,000 in grants to support law enforcement and crime victims.

The funding comes from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.

“I understand the need to support our law enforcement and victims’ advocates, so I always want to make sure they have the resources they need,” Burns said. “These grants will serve several needed purposes, from putting more officers in crime hotspots to prosecuting domestic crimes to helping victims navigate the justice system.”

The following grants were awarded to Cambria County:

  • $200,000 to City of Johnstown for the crime-prevention initiative Johnstown STRONG.
  • $50,000 to Cambria County Child Advocacy Center Inc. for support services for child victims of abuse.
  • $125,000 to Victim Services Inc. for programs and services for victims of domestic crimes.
  • $34,759 to Cambria County Commissioners for programs for victims of juvenile offenders.
  • $111,109 to Victim Services Inc. for victims’ rights programs and services.
  • $90,000 to Cambria County for adult probation monitoring and supervision.
  • $163,051 to Cambria County for adult probation and parole programs.
