Harkins, Merski applaud $5.37M in support for Erie County initiatives

HARRISBURG, Oct. 19 – State Reps. Pat Harkins and Bob Merski, both D-Erie, today congratulated the Erie County organizations receiving more than $5.37 million in tax-credit investments through the Neighborhood Assistance Program. The lawmakers said the funding will support dozens of community-driven projects that strengthen neighborhoods, expand access to essential services, and promote economic opportunity across Erie County.

“These awards reflect the determination and creativity of our local nonprofits and partners who work every day to lift up our neighborhoods,” Merski said. “From expanding food access to improving housing, childcare and vital community programs, these investments directly support Erie families and build long-term stability.”

Harkins added, “This is the kind of targeted support that helps families, strengthens neighborhoods, and builds pride. Erie has extraordinary organizations doing transformative work, and NAP investments help them go even further. We’re proud to see this level of support coming into our community.”
