Innamorato sworn in for first term as state representative
HARRISBURG, Jan. 1 – State Rep. Sara Innamorato, D-Allegheny, was sworn into office today during a Capitol ceremony for her first term as state representative for the 21st Legislative District.
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives swearing-in corresponds with the first Tuesday in January, every two years. This is Pennsylvania’s 203rd legislative session.
“Especially as a lifelong resident of the district, it’s an absolute honor to hold the title of state representative for the 21st Legislative District,” Innamorato said. “My neighbors -- the people who live, work and raise their families here – put their faith in me to fight for them here at the Capitol, and I plan on doing just that.
“I’m proud to join the 23 other newly elected Democrats in the House to push for legislation that puts people over corporate profit. I feel very positive that we can translate this new energy and excitement into action, actions that the people of the Commonwealth have been waiting for.”
Prior to being elected to the state House, Innamorato dedicated her resources to nonprofit work and launching her own business, Innamo Co., which was a start-up that worked with other organizations dedicated to bringing about positive community and policy change through initiatives focused on food access, social justice, women’s rights and other human rights issues.
As a legislator, Innamorato is committed to working towards universal health care for all residents, implementing a fair share tax system, increasing the wage for working people, keeping our homes affordable and protecting tenants, protecting our air and water, and continuing to invest in public schools.
The district telephone number is 412-781-2750. Those interested can learn more about Innamorato by visiting her website at www.pahouse.com/Innamorato, or by following her at www.Facebook.com/RepInnamorato and www.Twitter.com/RepInnamorato.
