Rep. Sara Innamorato named to state House committees
HARRISBURG, Jan. 28 – State Rep. Sara Innamorato was named to the Health, Transportation and Urban Affairs committees of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
The committees hear testimony and review legislation related to their topic areas before it is voted on by the House and help to determine and drive state policy in these areas.
“As a new legislator, I am excited to roll up my sleeves and engage in these three important committees,” Innamorato said. “Each of these committees has a vital role in drafting and enacting legislation on issues that affect Pennsylvanians’ daily lives.”
The Health Committee reviews bills pertaining to health issues, the Transportation Committee reviews legislation relating to all modes of transportation in the commonwealth, including highways, airports, train service, public transit, ports and the turnpike, while the Urban Affairs Committee reviews bills which pertain to cities and counties of the first, second and third class.
“As an advocate for the residents of Pittsburgh, my position in these committees will ensure that the challenges facing urban areas throughout our commonwealth are part of the discussion in Harrisburg,” Innamorato said. “Serving on these committees will allow me to put the interests and well-being of people first and promote legislation that will benefit all Pennsylvanians.”
