Innamorato: General Assembly must follow Wolf down the right path

HARRISBURG, Feb. 5 – State Rep. Sara Innamorato, D-Allegheny, today said that Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget proposal sets a path that can lead Pennsylvania forward and build a pathway to prosperity for all.

"I look forward to working with Governor Wolf in crafting a budget that addresses the needs of all Pennsylvanians," Innamorato said. "I applaud his calls for continued investment in education – especially early education. We cannot, and should not, be satisfied with the status quo, where a child’s socioeconomic background determines whether or not they have access to a quality education or the Pre-K resources that are so critical to a child’s early development.

"Today Governor Wolf also rightly said that ‘it’s always workers that have propelled our prosperity,’ which is correct. However, those same workers are all too often locked out of sharing in that prosperity, which is one of the many reasons I look forward to standing with Governor Wolf and other legislators as we fight for a living wage for all Pennsylvanians, one that will ensure that all workers – and their families – can share in Pennsylvania’s economic prosperity."
