Don’t forget that Primary Election Day is Tuesday, May 19. Voting empowers individuals by giving them a voice in the decision-making processes that affect their lives. Make sure you vote—either in person or by mail.
If you don’t know your polling place for in-person voting, click here to find yours.
Mail-in or absentee ballots must be received by the County Board of Elections no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day. You may submit your ballot in person at the County Board of Elections office at City Hall, or at one of the city’s secure ballot drop boxes or satellite election offices.
For a full list of drop boxes and Satellite Election offices, visit the City of Philadelphia website. Voting makes sure your voice is heard. Voting affects decisions on healthcare, education, infrastructure and other issues that impact Pennsylvanians every day!
Finally, my office will be closed on Election Day, and we will re-open on Wednesday, May 20 to help with your state government needs.

My Shredding and E-cycling Event is tomorrow!
|
As the number of identity theft victims continues to rise each year, document security and information protection have become a high priority. Come to my shredding and e-recycling event tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 511 S. Front Street to dispose of sensitive documents. The event is also a good opportunity to get rid of old or unwanted electronic devices, or anything else with a plug that you no longer use.

I recently joined several of my colleagues in speaking out about AI data centers and their impact on Pennsylvanians.
From water usage to energy consumption, data centers are adding to the energy insecurity issues Commonwealth residents face. We need to focus on making energy affordable for our citizens.

This past Saturday, a Pennsylvania Historical Marker went up at N. American and Jefferson streets to recognize the Kensington Riots of 1844. The Nanny Goat Fest and the historical marker celebrated the community that has survived since the May 1844 fires near the Nanny Goat Market, a gathering space for Irish Americans at the time. Along with the dedication, there was a memorial mass at St. Michael’s and an Irish-themed street festival.
