Isaacson takes oath for second term
HARRISBURG, Jan. 5 – State Rep. Mary Isaacson took the oath of office at the state Capitol today to begin her second term representing the 175th Legislative District in Philadelphia.
The noon swearing-in ceremony marked the beginning of the 2021-22 session of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Washington County Judge Brandon Neuman, a former House member, administered the oath of office.
Isaacson serves as a member of several committees and caucuses, including the Climate Caucus, the LGBTQ Equality Caucus and the Women’s Health Caucus.
She will receive committee assignments later in the month.
Isaacson said she will continue to focus on issues that are most important to the people in her district, including environmental justice and climate change; working toward equity for women in all spheres of society; education, including fighting for the fair funding formula and cyber charter school reform so that children can thrive; and sensible gun safety legislation to improve the quality of life for everyone.
“I’ve spent my entire adult life working for the people of Philadelphia with the goal of making life better for as many people as possible,” Isaacson said. “My goal in this new term is to amplify the voices of those who often feel silenced and to fight on their behalf in Harrisburg.”
Isaacson said her office can help with a variety of state-related services, including home heating, children’s health insurance, prescription drug and property tax/rent rebate assistance. Her office phone number is 215-503-3245. Residents also can learn more about Isaacson’s legislative priorities and the services her office provides by visiting her website, RepMaryIsaacson.com.
