Isaacson secures funds for enhanced safety measures on Frankford Avenue Corridor

State Rep. Mary Isaacson, D-Phila., secured $2.8 million in funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for safety enhancements to the Frankford Avenue Corridor. 

The intersections include:  

• Carteret Drive. 

• Rhawn Street. 

• Sheffield Avenue. 

• Tyson Avenue. 

• Harbison Avenue/Devereaux Avenue/Hawthorne Street. 

• Wakeling Street. 

• Oxford Avenue/Margaret Street/Arrott Street. 

• Tioga Street. 

• Ontario Street. • Allegheny Avenue. 

• Clearfield Street. 

• Ann Street. 

• Orleans Street. 

• Cambria Street. 

• Somerset Street. 

• Lehigh Avenue. 

“I am grateful to PennDOT for funding this project. It will be a massive improvement to safety concerns and save countless lives along the Frankford Avenue Corridor,” Isaacson said. “I am always happy to bring resources back to our community that will enhance safety and improve the quality of life of Philadelphians.” 

Under this project, PennDOT will replace traffic signals and related equipment, updated signage at intersections, LED light installation and restoration of pavement markings.  

Construction for the Frankford Avenue Signal Improvements project is slated to begin this fall and finish in spring 2024.
