Isaacson secures over $500,000 in historical support grant funding

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 14 – Today, state Rep. Mary Isaacson announced that $514,000 in Cultural and Historical Support Grants will support museum and historical societies in her district.
The funding from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission provides general operating support to Pennsylvania museums and official county historical societies. This year’s funding will assist 182 museums and societies across the commonwealth, including 14 in Isaacson’s district.
Receiving $47,000 each are the American Philosophical Society, Historic Philadelphia Inc., Independence Seaport Museum, Museum of the American Revolution, National Constitution Center, National Liberty Museum, Science History Institute and Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History.
Other grant recipients are:
- $45,000 to Philadelphia Society For The Preservation Of Landmarks
- $35,000 to Athenaeum of Philadelphia
- $25,000 to Arch Street Meeting House Preservation Trust
- $15,000 to Carpenters Hall
- $13,000 to Christ Church Preservation Trust
- $5,000 to Philadelphia Fire Department
“It is an honor to see so many of the historical landmarks, museums and societies right here in my district recognized with this grant,” Isaacson said. “This funding goes toward keeping Philadelphia’s story alive and shining on the world stage. My appreciation goes to the Historical & Museum Commission for helping maintain the arts, sciences, culture and history that make our city so special.”
